Zoning Amendments

Four proposed amendments aim to align workforce housing regulations with state laws, reduce lot size requirements, introduce cottage court housing, and establish a 50-foot protective buffer for streams like Baboosic Brook and Pulpit Brook.

Infrastructure and Projects

  • Fire Substation: A $8.9M plan for a new substation on South River Road.
  • Parks and Recreation: $3.2M proposed for upgrades to Swenson Field, Nashua Road Complex, and the town skateboard park.
  • Bridge Repairs: Replacement projects for Greenfield Parkway and Beals Road bridges, each budgeted at $2.5M, leveraging state and federal funding.
  • Road Improvements: $400K to maintain pavement standards and $670K for a new sidewalk on Old Bedford Road.

Community Development

The warrant includes a plan for Community Power Aggregation, offering lower electricity rates and expanded renewable energy options. It also features a $100K initiative for Sebbins Pond watershed management, with 100% loan forgiveness under a clean water program.

Budget and Financial Planning

The proposed 2025 operating budget is $38.9M, with a default fallback budget of $38.3M. Additional funds are requested for local road maintenance, pool repairs, and discontinuing completed capital reserve funds.
