Bedford Education Committee Member Removed Sig Sauer Raffle after School Shooting
Kristin Noble is a candidate for the State House running for one of seven seats in New Hampshire. In recent years, school shootings have become a tragic and alarming trend in various countries, particularly in the United States. These horrific events have not only claimed innocent lives but also instilled fear and anxiety among students, parents, and educators. The impact of these shootings extends beyond the immediate trauma, affecting the mental health and sense of security within school communities. Efforts to address the root causes, such as mental health support and stricter gun control measures, are being discussed and implemented in various regions. However, the challenge remains significant, requiring a concerted effort from policymakers, law enforcement, educators, and communities to ensure the safety and well-being of students in educational environments.
Kristin Noble didn’t let this deter her from organizing a raffle to raise funds with a $1,549 gift card from Sig Sauer. When asked about the raffle on Facebook, Kristin dismissed it as “fake news.” Although the raffle has since been removed from her page, an internet archive link reveals it was active during the summer.
It’s astonishing that a member of the State House Education Committee receives funding from gun manufacturers. Bedford, it’s time to look beyond Kristin Noble.
